Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, professional Security Officer to support safety and security operations at retail store. The ideal candidate is disciplined, attentive, and committed to providing world-class customer service. This role involves performing duties that include foot patrol, greeting customers, responding effectively to emergency situations, and preventing criminal activity by acting as a visual deterrent. Officers must maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while strictly adhering to company protocols regarding shoplifting and physical apprehensions.

Logistics and Compensation

• Location: Fort Pierce

• Job Type: Part-time

• Pay Rate: $19.50 to $20 per hour

Availability & Schedule:

• Hours: 16 hours

• Schedule: Friday & Saturday 1600-0000

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

• Provide world-class customer service by warmly greeting customers and making direct eye contact at the store entrance.

• Perform frequent walking tours of the store's front exterior and vestibule no less than every 15 minutes.

• Inspect the store's exterior for signs of vandalism or damage, immediately reporting any findings to the Manager-In-Charge and the National Command Center.

• Scan the parking lot for suspicious people and vehicles to maintain site awareness.

• Direct vagrants or loitering persons to leave the property and assist with the removal of unwanted persons as directed by the Manager-In-Charge.

• Accompany Front End Associates during cash pick-ups and deposits when requested.

• Accompany closing Store Associates to their vehicles in locations where employee parking is off-site and the shift extends past closing.

• Act strictly as a silent witness regarding shoplifting suspects; officers are not authorized to stop, detain, question, or accuse individuals.

• Respond to medical or fire emergencies by calling 911, protecting life safety, directing emergency personnel, and notifying the Store Manager.

• Complete clear, concise, and legible Incident Reports for any incidents involving customers, property damage, emergency responses, or physical confrontations.

Licensing

• Possess valid Florida Class D security license.

• Possess valid Driver’s License.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 21 years of age or older.

• Ability to pass background screening and drug test.

• Maintain a complete uniform that is clean, wrinkle-free, fully buttoned and/or zipped, with properly polished shoes.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor assignments: Exposure to various weather conditions while patrolling the exterior front of the store and parking lot.

• Stationary & Mobile Positions: Ability to remain standing erectly for the entire shift while on post; slouching or placing hands in pockets is strictly prohibited.

• Patrol Requirements: Ability to continuously walk on various surfaces during frequent exterior rounds.

• Emergency Response: Must be able to react quickly to emergency situations and safely direct emergency crews to specific locations.

• Sensory Abilities: Must have the auditory and visual ability to monitor the parking lot, communicate clearly, and respond to incidents or directions from the Manager-In-Charge.

• Effective Communication: Ability to clearly exchange information, provide instructions, and draft written reports in English.
