Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, dependable, and highly observant Commissioned Security Officer (Armed) to provide safety and security services at a private high school campus. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a school environment and will be committed to maintaining a secure atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
This role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies. The Commissioned Officer will be responsible for campus patrol, monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access points, and addressing incidents using conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols of school grounds, parking areas, buildings, and assigned zones to deter suspicious activity.
- Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems and other security equipment.
- Maintain a visible security presence to promote a safe learning environment.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
- Enforce campus safety procedures, visitor policies, and access control protocols.
- Assist with student safety issues, disturbances, and conflict resolution using professional de-escalation methods.
- Work closely with school administration, staff, and local law enforcement during incidents or investigations.
- Document and report all incidents, observations, and actions taken in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
- Support campus safety during school events, sporting activities, and after-hours functions as needed.
Qualifications / Experience
- Must possess a valid Texas Commissioned Security Officer License (Level III).
- Prior experience working security in a school, campus, or youth environment strongly preferred.
- Law enforcement or military background is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of security procedures, patrol techniques, and emergency response.
- Experience with surveillance systems (CCTV) and reporting procedures.
- Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be dependable, punctual, and capable of standing/walking for extended periods.
Work Environment
This position is located on an active private school campus. Officers must be comfortable working around students and maintaining a professional, approachable, and authoritative presence.
