Job Skills / Requirements

American Security is currently recruiting Full-Time Special Response Officers (SROs) to work throughout the Chicagoland area. This is a great opportunity to enhance your security experience and join a great company in one of the fastest growing industries!

Requirements
  • Speak, read, and write the English language fluently.
  • Understand written procedures and respond accordingly.
  • Own a reliable vehicle that meets the Illinois law outlining vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
  • Be on-call and prepared for deployment to various client sites with little/ no advanced notice.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduled to be on stand-by two shifts per day, 6-days a week
  • Promptly respond to dispatch requests for service and deploy to locations within the Chicagoland area.
  • Effectively utilize technology (tablets, access control systems, visitor management systems, and CCTV systems) to assist clients in securing their facilities.
  • Ensure vendors and visitors are properly signed in/out.
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against property theft.
  • Monitor security cameras within the facility.
  • Respond to incidents, including property emergencies.
  • Conduct general patrols during various hours, including numerous flights of stairs and frequent exterior patrols in any weather conditions.
  • Clearly and accurately record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and equipment malfunctioning.
  • Maintain clear and accurate logs.
  • Provide excellent customer service while on duty.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Compensation
  • $17.00 p/h + $4.00 p/h when all requirement and responsibilities of the SRO agreement are met.
  • Receive an additional $1.00 p/h when traveling more than 30 miles to the job site.
