This position necessitates that the employee remain standing or walking while on duty, as it is located within a retail store environment.
As a Retail Security Officer, the primary responsibility will be to actively monitor and patrol designated areas within the store to deter and prevent theft. The officer will be required to pay close attention to all activities, observing customer behavior and staff interactions in order to identify any potentially suspicious actions. Maintaining clear and continuous communication with the manager on duty is essential, as this facilitates the immediate reporting of any unusual occurrences or potential security threats.
The responsibilities also encompass the implementation of effective loss prevention strategies and procedures. This includes educating staff about security protocols, conducting regular training sessions, and ensuring adherence to all security measures in order to minimize risks and losses.
Furthermore, this role involves monitoring and promptly responding to security alarms, investigating any alerts to ascertain potential theft or unauthorized access. Providing exemplary customer service is integral to this position; the officer will assist customers with inquiries or concerns, thereby fostering a positive shopping environment while remaining vigilant regarding security. The ability to effectively balance these responsibilities will significantly contribute to the overall safety and integrity of the retail operations.
