Job Overview:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their assigned shift. The Shift Supervisor is tasked with signing in, posting, supervising, and training Line Staff (security guards). The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for daily interaction with event and venue clients in order to ensure IESS is always represented well. Shift Supervisors, like all in a leadership role, is responsible for cultivating the corporate culture with staff at all levels within the organization. The Shift Supervisor is the most visible and vital role representing the IESS brand.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Directly supervise shifts for all events at various venues
Take responsibility for “owning” staff communication messages during each shift
Always enforce company policies, documenting violations appropriately
Maintain an "open door" policy for employee concerns at all levels of the organization
Ensure company standards are met on all shifts
Be responsible for ensuring staffing levels for each shift are adequate and not below or over established figures
Document and communication staff attendance or other personnel issues consistently
Complete a Daily Shift Report for each shift to be sent within 30 minutes of shift end
Complete a Daily Base Checklist for each shift to be sent during the shift
Immediately communicate all issues that could negatively impact operations to the Operations Manager
Be the liaison with venue management and local authorities during each shift
Check in regularly with the direct point of contact for each event and ensure their expectations are met
Communicate any direct client or venue requests to the Operations Manager
Attend all necessary meetings & trainings
Have a fully charged cell phone for each shift
Ensure IESS company and event information is not shared with anyone without a need to know
Maintain confidential personnel information
Ensure a proper “turnover” is given to the next shift’s supervisor to ensure all relevant show info is distributed
Travel when required, occasionally overnight or for extended periods
Other responsibilities and duties as deemed necessary by executive management
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role
Experience in security or hospitality preferred
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
As a condition of employment, employees must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening.
Possess a valid US drivers license (highly preferred)
Must pass a Driver's Record check
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to work a schedule that meets business needs which includes weekends and holidays
Neat and professional appearance
Upbeat, friendly, and personable demeanor
Must be able to handle urgent situations with calm and poise
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks
Must be proficient in computer skills and fluent in Microsoft programs
