Job Skills / Requirements


Management experience is required for this position.
Candidates having both security and supervisory experience will be prioritized for this position.
Military veterans and people with firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.

BASICS:

  • Pay Rate: $24.00/hour, eligible for overtime.
  • Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Friday (5:30 AM to 1:30 PM)
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Must be available on-call to respond to emergency situations and provide emergency shift coverage 24/7.

Candidates who do not meet the availability or experience requirements might be migrated to other contracts within the company based on their other qualifications if they meet the minimum requirements for those roles.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Site Supervisor for this building complex is responsible for the overall security operations of the site location and the supervision and leadership of approximately 60 assigned Uniform Security Officers. The Site Supervisor will be available to receive calls from subordinates with site questions while the officers are on duty and handle unexpected scheduling issues (sick employees).  The supervisor is ultimately responsible for filling all shifts with the assistance of the Operations Managers. The Uniform Site Supervisor is responsible contributing to the overall goals and direction of our clients and the company as a whole.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to clients, employees, and visitors.
  • Supervision: Manage and lead a team of security officers.
  • Training: Ensure officers are properly trained and certified.
  • Appearance: Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming for all officers.
  • Policy Updates: Keep post guidelines up-to-date and aligned with client and company policies.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with clients and management.
  • Scheduling: Create and manage officer schedules, including time-off requests.
  • Discipline: Handle disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews of subordinates.
  • Payroll: Approve timesheets and ensure timely submission.
  • On-Call Availability: Be available to handle emergencies and staffing issues 24/7.
  • Hiring: Assist with recruiting and hiring new security officers.
  • Additional Duties: May vary based on specific client needs.
SUCCESS as a Security Officer at DK Security will look like:

  • Reliability - Report for your shift on time, presentable, and in the prescribed uniform.
  • Friendly Personality- Being able to balance our expectations of outstanding customer service while maintaining client policies and enforcing rules.
  • Following Company and Client Policies - Be able to read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures as outlined and ensure all tasks are completed throughout the shift.
  • Use of De-escalation Techniques - Being able to defuse situations through verbal judo and other communication tactics.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of experience in management is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067 §17(2).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply to federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c).
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away.
  • Must be able to hear in-person and radio conversations in loud environments.
  • Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and navigate difficult conversations with a high-level of understanding and professionalism.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
  • Must be trained, or willing to become trained in CPR/AED/First Aid for Adults, Infants, and Children, and be physically capable of performing lifesaving care.
Note: Applicants who are currently on disciplinary probation, who have been previously removed from the contract governing this position, or who are previous employees who were on disciplinary probation at their time of separation, are not eligible for this position and will not be considered.
