Responsibilities

  • To oversee the instruction, curriculum, officer's training, enforcement of policies and procedures, scheduling of classes, and regulatory standards to maintain high-quality training.
  • Interface with state and local compliance agencies.
  • Ensure that all officers are licensed in accordance with established state and local regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to obtain VA, MD and DC Instruction Certification.
  • Administer course schedule based on needs of prospective Security Officers in VA, MD and DC areas.
  • Serve as the focal point of multiple contract training compliance requirements and responsible for overall training quality and standards in accordance with each Statement of Work
  • Communicate and oversee compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that training lesson plans and materials are developed to support regulatory requirements and task needs to support excellent performance on the part of security force members.
  • Plan training objectives, maintain training files, and update curriculums.
  • Explain, demonstrate, and ensure responsibility of equipment.
  • Develop subject lesson plans for formal classroom instruction and hands-on training tasks for use by security personnel.
  • Support the management of the training program in taking care of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Conduct training classes/OJT/individual instruction.
  • Collection and submission of all required applications and supporting documentation to state licensing and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues.
  • Compliance Tracker) ensuring that the data is current and usable.
  • Run compliance reports to identify missing compliance documentation.
  • Follow up with appropriate individuals to obtain missing source documentation.
  • Ongoing tracking of all incoming licenses, state and/or job specific certifications, MVR, and training.
  • Provide weekly compliance status report.
  • Perform weekly Quality Control (QC) checks on contract sites.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to regulatory requirements and industry standards to ensure that our organization remains compliant.
Requirements

  • Currently credentialed as VA/MD/DC Instructor.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all state and federal licensing requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain state and national certifications for a firearms instructor.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a Trainer within the security field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels.
  • Strong time management skills and detail-orientation.
  • Module Training: 2 years (Required)
  • Employee Orientation Training: 2 years (Required)
  • Knowledge of state and federal guidelines regarding security licensing.
  • Able to assist candidates and employees with getting their licensing and or help resolving any issue that they may have.
  • Excellent Time Management skills.
Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday with someone weekends required.

Ability to commute:

  • 90% Travel around the DMV area
  • 10% Travel outside the DMV
