Job Skills / Requirements

This is a STANDING/WALKING post which requires you to be on your feet while on-duty. 

As a retail security officer, one is expected to adhere to superior standards while serving the surrounding communities. It is imperative for a retail security officer to maintain a commanding presence complemented by exceptional customer service skills. Additionally, the ability to manage crisis situations at the client site in a calm, effective, and efficient manner is essential.

In the capacity of a retail security officer with our organization, you will be responsible for both initiating and completing daily reports. As a valued team member, you will be expected to uphold a distinguished presence while assigned to various sites. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and patrol assigned areas to deter theft 
  • Communicate constantly with the manager on duty regarding any suspicious activity 
  • Implement loss prevention strategies and procedures to minimize risk  
  • Monitor and respond to alarms to detect potential theft 
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries or concerns.

Qualifications:
  • NYS Security License
  • Strong knowledge of loss prevention procedures and protocols 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and conflict management 
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally 
  • Possess the skills to pay attention to detail and strong observation skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment 
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • Must be willing to stand/walk for the duration of the shift
  • Must have availability to work weekends

Certification Requirements (All)

NYS Security License
Valid State ID
Valid Social Security Card
