Job Description:

We are currently seeking highly skilled and professional Armed Transit Officers to join our team. As an Armed Transit Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our transit systems and passengers. This position requires a strong dedication to public safety, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle highly challenging situations calmly and effectively.


Responsibilities:

- Provide a visible and vigilant presence in transit stations, vehicles, and surrounding areas to deter criminal activity and maintain a safe environment for passengers and employees.

- Enforce transit system rules and regulations, including fare enforcement and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.

- Conduct regular patrols to identify potential safety hazards or security risks and promptly intervene or report any concerns.

- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and distress calls, providing assistance, medical aid if necessary, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.

- Utilize firearms and other weapons responsibly and in line with established protocols and legal requirements.

- Communicate effectively with passengers, staff, and emergency personnel, providing clear instructions and assistance as needed.

- Prepare incident reports, documenting all incidents, interventions, and actions taken in a clear, comprehensive, and accurate manner.

- Monitor surveillance systems and assist with access control, ensuring a proactive response to any unauthorized or suspicious activity.

- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to coordinate responses and maintain a secure environment.

- Stay updated on industry best practices, attend training sessions, and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Must be 21 years of age or older

- Knowledge of firearms preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with diverse individuals and diffuse potentially challenging situations.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high-pressure situations

- Ability to work independently, make quick and sound decisions under pressure, prioritizing the safety and well-being of passengers and personnel.

- Familiarity with security systems and technology

- Possession of a valid driver's license and clean driving record
